Roots Yoga
Book Club

Stories, Connection
& Community

We’re excited to introduce a new offering at Roots: a monthly book club designed to
bring together community members who love both movement and meaningful
conversation.

Led by Roots instructor and writer Stacy Troth Thompson, this book club will explore a
curated mix of fiction and narrative nonfiction that is thought-provoking without being
heavy, accessible without being fluff, and centered around the stories that help us grow.

Meetings will be held on the first Sunday of every month, following Ashley’s meditation
and mindful movement class at 4:30 PM.

Close the weekend with intention, gentle
movement, and intellectual stimulation, preparing you for the week ahead.

• Short passage from the book (shared in advance) to ground our conversation
• Welcoming, relaxed environment with light snacks
• Comfortable seating using studio blankets and bolsters

exercise, or gentle 5-minute movement flow
• Closing meditation to end the evening with intention
No prior book club experience needed—just curiosity and a love of reading.

2026 Reading List (June–December)

The first series of books focuses on contemporary fiction and memoir that resonate with many of our community members, particularly women navigating full, evolving lives:

May: The Correspondent — Virginia Evans
June: Broken Country — Clare Leslie Hall
July: Crying in H Mart — Michelle Zauner
August: Half His Age — Jennette McCurdy
September: The Wedding People — Alison Espach
October: The Bright Years — Sarah Damoff
November: Remarkably Bright Creatures — Shelby Van Pelt
December: The Midnight Library — Matt Haig
(Book club selections may shift according to member interest.)
Stacy will guide the discussion in a way that welcomes all perspectives while keeping the conversation accessible, thoughtful, and grounded. Drawing on her background in writing and storytelling, she creates conversations that connect literature to real-life experiences.

Whether you're an avid reader or just looking for another way to connect with the Roots community, this is a space to slow down, think together, and share ideas.
Come for the yoga. Stay for the conversation.
