The Roots YTT program is top notch. I appreciate the amount of care and attention Leah and Ginger put into the curriculum and creating a supportive, safe and fun environment for us to explore yoga at a deeper level.

Vickie S.

I am 8/10's of the way through my teacher training and I know I have only begun to scratch the surface of where my practice will lead me. Roots Yoga truly saved me and helped me find my inner self.

Mike C.

Roots YTT is something special. The community alone sets it apart: supportive, kind, and deeply connected. You don’t just learn how to teach—you deepen your practice and grow alongside a group of people.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What are the prerequisites for the 200-hour training?

We recommend at least 1 year of regular yoga practice. However, the most important prerequisite is a dedicated spirit and an open mind. This training is as much about personal growth as it is about learning to teach.

Is Roots Yoga a registered school?

Yes, Roots Yoga is an RYS-200 (Registered Yoga School) with Yoga Alliance. Graduates will be eligible to register as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT-200).

What if I don't want to teach?

Many students join our YTT to deepen their own practice, study history and philosophy, and connect with a like-minded community. Teaching is a skill you'll learn, but how you use it is up to you.

Are payment plans available?

Yes! We believe in making our training accessible. We offer flexible payment plans that allow you to spread the cost over several months. Inquire during your application for specific details.

What is the time frame?

September to June- specific dates TBD. Graduation in June.
